Frequently Asked Questions

How is Shorter Loop priced?
Shorter Loop is billed per user. You can choose Monthly or Yearly billing. On yearly billing, pricing is:
Startup: $180 per user per year
ScaleUp: $300 per user per year
Enterprise: Contact us for a custom quote
Is there a minimum number of users I need to purchase?
No. You can start with just 1 paid user and add more as your team grows. However, some Enterprise agreements may require a minimum seat count, depending on your contract.
What's the difference between the three pricing tiers?
Startup ($180/user/year) is designed for small teams just beginning their product strategy journey. You get 1 product, 2 teams, and basic limits on strategy features (2 solutions, 2 opportunities, 2 objectives per product).
Scaleup ($300/user/year) targets growing companies managing multiple products. You can create up to 5 products, have 4 teams, and get expanded limits (6 solutions, 6 opportunities, 6 objectives per product).
Enterprise (Custom pricing) is for large organizations needing unlimited everything - unlimited products, teams, storage, and all strategy/discovery features without restrictions.
What do “Teams” and “Products” mean—and how do these limits affect me?
Team = a group working together (e.g., Product, Design, Engineering). Startup supports up to 2 teams; ScaleUp 4; Enterprise unlimited.
Product = one distinct product or app you manage end-to-end. Startup supports 1 product; ScaleUp 5; Enterprise unlimited.
If you operate more teams or products than your plan allows, pick the next plan up so everyone can collaborate in one place.
What happens to my data if I hit my storage limit?
The storage limits are subscription-wide and shared across all your products. Startup gets 5 GB, Scaleup gets 15 GB, and Enterprise gets unlimited storage.
If you approach your limit, you'll receive notifications to either upgrade your plan or manage your existing data. Your existing data remains safe, but you won't be able to add new content until you're back under the limit.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at any time? Will I lose data if I change plans?
Yes, you can upgrade your plan at any time, and the changes take effect immediately. When upgrading, you'll have access to the new limits right away.
Downgrading is also possible, but if you're currently using more resources than the lower tier allows (e.g., you have 3 products but want to downgrade to Startup, which only allows 1), you'll need to reduce your usage first to comply with the new plan's limits.
If you downgrade to a plan with lower limits, your data isn’t deleted. You’ll keep access to existing work, and you can reduce items to fit the new limits; you just won’t be able to create beyond the new caps until you’re back under them. For advanced governance or portfolio needs, Enterprise can be tailored to you.
What's included in the 14-day free trial for Startup?
The 14-day trial gives you full access to all Startup plan features without requiring a credit card. You can create 1 product, invite up to 2 teams, use 5 GB of storage, and test all the strategy and discovery features within the Startup limits. This includes creating up to 2 solutions, 2 opportunities, 2 personas, and managing feedback from up to 10 feedback givers.
Which Strategy features are included in each plan?
Themes (Org Roadmap): Enterprise only (Unlimited).
Solutions: 2 (Startup) · 6 (ScaleUp) · Unlimited (Enterprise)
Opportunities: 2 (Startup) · 6 (ScaleUp) · Unlimited (Enterprise)
Experiments: Unlimited on all plans
Objectives: 2 (Startup) · 6 (ScaleUp) · Unlimited (Enterprise)
If you need organization-wide portfolio views (like Themes across products), choose Enterprise.
What are the Discovery limits (Personas, Visions, Business Models)?
Personas: 2 (Startup) · 4 (ScaleUp) · Unlimited (Enterprise)
Visions: 1 (Startup) · 1 (ScaleUp) · Unlimited (Enterprise)
Business Models: 1 (Startup) · 1 (ScaleUp) · Unlimited (Enterprise)
If your discovery work involves many personas or multiple long-term visions, Enterprise removes those caps.
How does Feedback Management scale by plan?
Feedback Givers: 10 (Startup) · 30 (ScaleUp) · Unlimited (Enterprise)
Feedback Items: 20 (Startup) · 60 (ScaleUp) · Unlimited (Enterprise)
Collections: 3 (Startup) · 9 (ScaleUp) · Unlimited (Enterprise)
Feedback Giver = someone who can share feedback (e.g., customer, AE, CSM). Feedback Item = one piece of input (note, call log, ticket). Collection = a folder/stream to organize feedback.
How does team collaboration work across different plans?
The "Teams" limit refers to how many separate teams you can create within your subscription. Each team can have multiple members. On Startup, you can have 2 teams; on Scaleup, 4 teams; and Enterprise has unlimited teams. Team members can collaborate on products, share feedback, and work together on strategy development within the limits of your chosen plan.
